Tickets Southampton (A)

For me, this is completely ridiculous. You cannot have the ticket office closed on the first day of match sale.

The ticket office was never closed during the week when situated at GP in my time so not sure why they’ve gone down this route. I would be interested to see what other Prem clubs do.
They close the Ticket Office for a reason, it's a ploy to force people to book online.

decided to `phone the club` wish me luck. hold on, the website says its closed today. am i waiting for someone who will never answer and why do they sell tickets the day they are closed lol

also it says you can hit * at any time to get a callback later, guess what ? you cant.
This is why I prefer to buy my tickets from Bad Man, 24/7 service.

They will be working from home. You could call them from outside their house I suppose.
Interesting. So who is the club renting out their desks and chairs and phones at the stadium to on Wednesdays?

I *think* I’ve spotted a flaw in their cunning plan: people just need to use the ticket office in person on any day other than Wednesdays?

Southampton (A)

I got 2 and there was literally 1 left.
The fella behind me got the last one and he wanted 3.I remember the queue going all the way down the Ealing Road.
Got mine over the phone.

Great position right by the segregation.

Brilliant fun when Sam equalised.

Not really as the majority of people buy as soon as they are eligible and in any case it narrows down the window and therefore does indeed encourage on line purchases

I drove up to Brentford and parked in the Ealing Road about 7 in the morning and joined the queue.
That was a brilliant day at the St Marys.

It was probably one of my darkest days as a Brentford fan not to get a ticket especially having been at Hartlepool for the 4th round two days earlier.

We got tickets in the home end in the end but I would’ve loved to have been in the away section when that equaliser went in.

Is there any info on the TAPs needed for the next tranche of tickets?

2 days ? both games were saturdays

Great seeing all the bees jump up around the ground when we scored lol

What made it worse for us was that the coach we were on to Hartlepool, the wing mirror was hanging off so we had to stop at Leicester services, they tried to tape it back on lol nut no luck so we had to wait for a replacement coach to come up from London. Can't remember what time we finally left Leicester maybe around 12:30. we had to hold a vote to see if people wanted to carry on or to go back home. We arrived at half time, then searched going into the ground and we were back on the coach after 45 minutes

It normally happens mid morning

They are still being sold still so how can they work out the TAP number now ?

They can make it up as the second window doesn’t I think give a guarantee of a ticket.

I watched on the big screen at GP along with a couple of thousand or so. Funny thing was, when a chant of a song going on from Bees at St Mary's, we all joined in!

The fact that there were "a couple of thousand or so" at Griffin Park is one of the most disgraceful episodes in BFC recent history.

I saw the chaos unfolding on here so drove to the club early afternoon but was too late and there was a sign on the gate saying all tickets had been sold.
I managed to get 4 tickets in the Home end but we got ejected when they went 2-0 because we didn’t celebrate and joined dozens of familiar faces who had also been sussed. We were home by the full time whistle

I remember seeing people getting thrown out. I would have done exactly the same if I had dipped out I must admit.
How many could we have sold for that game?
Easily 5000

Wasn't that the number that we were offered, as the Cup allocation, but we didn't think we could sell, as they were on a guaranteed sale basis?

We were offered 5500 on the basis we paid for the lot. I can give chapter and verse on this sorry tale but it’s late.

Was on that coach too. Peter G at the services on way back dishing out the 20 quid notes as compensation!

Yeah didn't we try and get Southampton to move their home fans in the blocks next to us but they weren't having it.
Others might tell me otherwise, but once our allocation was sold we tried to get more from Southampton. They decided that the ones we were initially offered were going to be sold to home fans and that was that.
Obviously we wanted those tickets.

Anyone more qualified can add to that or correct me if I am wrong here.

I was also in the home end with my sister and three small children!!! The tickets were purchased using a colleague's Saints' season ticket. I thought it would be in a quieter part of the ground given they were an effing university professor but it was right among their noisy boys.

We dutifully stood and clapped politely when they scored their goals, but it was only luck that I didn't celebrate our first goal - I just didn't realise it had gone in!! :) Good job because some Bees' fans near me did celebrate and were quickly set up upon, before being ejected. The rest of the game was spent trying to keep everyone as quiet as possible. Loved watching the after-match celebrations though, inwardly joining in!

I have absolutely detested Saints ever since!

Reading my email invite it reads as though those of us in the second group are guaranteed a ticket if wanted? @hobbsy

Is this correct? Saves me trying to piss about at work.
