Tickets Spurs (A)

Spurs (A)

I did exactly this and today got the following reply from the ticket office:

So how do they suppose I get seats together with people who buy tickets across windows? I picked seats in the same block but by the time I could buy the second one the seats nearest to the first were 10 rows away.

When I bought multiple tickets in the same window for previous games they would always be together by default. So, other than helping those coordinate purchasing more than transaction limit, I'm not too sure what problem the seat map solves for this when it takes away the ticket office's ability to move seats together after purchase.
I had exactly the same reply from the club for me and my 17 year old. We are about 10 rows apart so not miles away but it’s not the same

Sorry about that, we will discuss at the next Away fans group with the club

You need to be tactical. Wait for the window in which you can all buy (don't forget you can check how sales are going now minute by minute!). Or buy in a remote part of the ground with plenty of availability.

I know that now. This is the first time they've not faciliated moves so I was caught out by it.

Though waiting until the members window to secure multiple tickets can be very risky, especially so for London games as they go in minutes after it opens (as many on here can attest to).

You can track the sales second by second now. So you can decide to wait for the next window or not depending on how sales are going.

I was tracking it. There were about 350 left before they went to members. A reasonable amount I thought. Yet they were all gone a few minutes later.

Try Tuesday, but where are your tickets situated ?
If in the same block and safe standing then just meet up.
Many do.
Haha, good catch! I'll still be in Liverpool on Monday as well.

Both tickets are in the same block, but 10 rows apart. They come to spend time with me at the football, so being apart kinda defeats the purpose of going together. If I can't get them moved then we'll likely try finding empty spaces that others have moved from, or see if anyone wants to swap. It's just I'd rather know in advance that we can stand together without having to play musical chairs for the first five minutes.

Anyway, I'll leave it here and give them a ring on Tuesday to see if they'll reconsider.

How do you mitigate against this?

You can’t allow people to buy tickets for their family members if they aren’t in the same TAP threshold

and you can’t ask people to move tickets so that another fan has to move out of their seat they expect to sit it

It’s a difficult one

you could reduce the threshold for kids tickets maybe? So they can buy with their parent?

You could keep a pool of seats back for moves maybe in the family friendly section. .

Ditch the seat map b***ocks and just let people pick their amount of (eligible) tickets as its always been?

The seat map “b***ocks” is actually great. I can imagine those fans that need to be near an exit or end of row for medical or other reasons find their matchday experience greatly enhanced.

Definitely has its pros. Just a simple answer to get rid of the drawbacks ?

Spurs (A)

I like the seat map, it's better being able to pick your seat rather than the pot luck of potentially being anywhere in the away end
Very true.
But personally I'd rather the potluck of being anywhere in the away end with my group than the potluck of not being able to choose seats together but being able to choose my seat

Live outside UK now and flying in for a few days next month. I annoyingly missed out on tickets for this - so if you happen to be selling a spare, please DM me! Cheers
