Yes Boss
Fitz as manager?
Three times in a row doesn't look too clever, does it?
To be fair the first one was acceptable as we did well just to get there. The second was a travesty and this one has "WTF" written all over it.

I will say this though - Fitz has got one hell of a job coming up in the summer. Out of today's side - Shipperley, Keith, Richards, Leary, Kuffour, Abbey, Griffiths, Willock, Kuffour even Ide could well be elsewhere next year.
So you didn't read my post then.![]()
As you're so keen on stats, have a quick look in all divisions over a period of about 10 years and tell me how many teams who were rock bottom at Christmas turned their season around. I'll take a guess and say less than 5% and I'll have another guess and say that 95% of those teams changed their manager.
Judge Fitz on next year's results - this season he's clearing up sh*t but next year he only has himself to blame.

Hats off for getting us there in year one but last year was one of the biggest blow ups you can imagine. If he ****s it up for MK Dons this year, I wonder if Winckleman will force him out.Talbot was a Wally Downes signing... Allen shipped him out because he thought Newman was Talbot with added fitness. How did Martin's expensively assembled squad get on today? Surely he's not going to blow another promotion?

So important we're losing two of him![]()
Some people sing his praises, but I think it's far far far to early, he's already been given more time and more of a chance then Leroy. Next season it will be hard to judge as the division will be different and our budget will be better then a few teams so it's a whole different situation where promotion will be the goal.

I don't see it that way. I thought we should have sailed into the play-offs in 2005 with the side we had. Only getting in by the skin of our teeth was part of the failure IMHO.To be fair the first one was acceptable as we did well just to get there. The second was a travesty and this one has "WTF" written all over it.
Well, on the evidence of what my own eyes have seen when watching games, Fitz has transformed the side from a rabble into a football team.
HE WAS THE WRONG MAN FOR THE JOB. NO EXPERIENCE NO NOTHING. IT WAS A GAMBLE IT DIDN'T WORK..
You must have your eyes shut then. They have looked like a rabble (under Fitz) most of the time I have seen them since Leroy was sacked (and yes, they were also a rabble before that also).
Bottom line is that Fitz has not had that much of an impact on results and that is despite him having a budget in weekly terms since the transfer window opened way in excess of what he can hope to have next year in League 2 and probably way in excess of what Leroy had.
Sentimentality is a wonderful thing isn't it. Unfortunately it doesn't win you enough games and neither does Fitz.
I would love him to turn this side around in the next 9 games so I could honestly believe he would be a good appointment. It aint gonna happen though and he wasn't a good appointment and he won't be the best option for next year either.
3 wins on the trot a couple of weeks ago has been a welcome break from the dross that has occurred either side of those wins. We haven't even looked like getting a win in all the other many games under his management and many of them have been embarrassing. I couldn't be arsed to go to B/sh*tty today becaise I knew we would lose and it is disappointing to read that we carried on with a defensive formation even when chasing the game.
Get real everyone. It was a crap appointment and we are soon to be picking up the tab for it.
Maybe some heads on the Boards of BFC will roll for making two crap managerial appointments in one season but don't hold your breath; but for those of you who are wondering if Fitz is really a great appointment because the rose tinted specs dept tell you he is. Well wake up and look at the results and the league table.
Personally, i'm hoping for someone better to lead us out of League 2 next year than someone who has managed to have a worse record on points per game than Leroy which must have been a pretty difficult task to achieve. well you managed it Fitz. Well done !
Leroy managed to scrape 17 points in 18 games before being sacked.
Fitz has managed 16 in 19.
Whoopee ****ing dee.
Wakey wakey.

And look at the budget that has been allowed to be blown away??
Can you remember another manager allowed to bring in around seven or eight players???
Blame the people who employed Fitz.
As I wrote in the last issue of the fanzine, the only people who were creaming their pants were the same players who had treated the shirt and badge disgracefully beforehand..
I'm not saying that Patterson would have done a better job, that's guess work, but it would have beena fresh start, new broom etc etc..
If also fed up with people bleating on about the rise and rise of BFC..in plain fact we are worse off now than we have ever been, seven points a drift and not too many games to play...

...........if we (or when we) get relegated then I've a feeling he won't be here next season. Would he want to stay ?

It's not a bad run-in. I can see us being safe with about 50ish points.
The ONLY measurement of success for Fitz is keeping BFC in League 1. He was appointed to turn around our season and keep us in league 1 and l personally will judge him on that criteria alone. To date he has my support, the team is infinitely better than the one he inherited.
We will know very clearly l suspect by the end of the Cheltenham game if Fitz remains on track to deliver.
Forget the rest of the league todgers as WE are locked into a mini league of 6teams; Muff / Chesterfield / Bradford / Cheltenham and Rotherham where we have to finish top or second top. We play two of them over the next month.
Fitz can win well, badly ugly or just plain lucky, it doesn't really matter.
As to the stats or team and budget he may or may not have next year seems just an exchange of frustrated academic hot air at this stage of the season.![]()

Yes and No.
I agree that it is not all over but at the same time the Board have to start thinking about next season even if Fitz must concentrate on this one. They have a duty to appoint the best possible person and as soon after the end of season as possible (if not before) if we are to hit the ground running which will be vital if we are in Div 2.
Fitz's record is not great but it is obvious we have a better team and team management even if it still not good enough, under Leroy we would have been going down with the worst team in living memory, an embarassing shambles in fact.
I do not know if there is a better manager available next season than Fitz or not, I suspect the list of "Realistic" appointments is not that long but it is imperative the Board start thinking about it now.
Isn't this a results led business? Fitz hasn't exactly won that many games since he was put in charge.
I also hope the Board are looking around NOW for a replacement.
Yes, it is a results led business but if you inherit a bunch of useless rubbish what exactly are you meant to achieve ?
The players brought in by Fitz have generally been an improvement .
I am not saying he is necessarily the best manager we have ever had, but I think he is doind a decent enough job currently to warrant a bit of faith.

The players brought in by Fitz have generally been an improvement and he has got rid of players he doesnt rate to try and free up some wages etc.
He is also hampered, as he has publically stated, by the fact that some players simply will not come on loan to a relegation haunted side.

So the much better team we have now have managed less points in more games![]()
We should be building for next season, we are most probably down.
If you give Leroy decent defenders and keeper he may of done very well

You won't have egg on your face but some of the draws under Leroy were embarassing. Leroy had a load of luck come his way and when the luck ran out he became a bit of a sad figure who I genuinely felt sorry for.
I never saw this expansive attacking football under Leroy that was promised but saw a joke of a team lose more and more confidence each week and then reached the point of complete no hopers who would get walloped week after week.
Fitz isn't perfect but I know who I prefer in charge.
Can someone explain to me why the Leroy wins were all lucky, but the Fitz ones were 'thoroughly deserved'. They have been very similar to me. Huddersfield and Blackpool under Fitz were just as lucky as any of Leroys.
Both of their records are hopeless.

Right listen up...Scunthorpe, Orient, Brighton away were scandals and I mentioned draws as being lucky if you would like to read again.
Blackpool at home wasn't too deserved if we mention wins but I put that down to a new team that needed gelling and took 65 minutes to understand one another.
I prefer Fitz's team to the shambles under Leroy but I wouldn't mind Callaghan's or Coppell's teams if I had the choice.
I prefer Ide, Keith, Tomlin or Heywood on the wing rather than Brooker.
