Dean Holdsworth for me. 38 goals in our promotion season and was able to replicate being a consistent, top goalscorer in the top division for a side that didn't score truckloads.

If it were him he’d have pitched the fee at £50m to drive up the sell on clause. That’d probably fund them for a promotion season.

And we’ve just broken our transfer record on KLP.

Leeds are desperate for a striker as presently they only have Bamford who is made of glass and two youngsters in Gelhardt and Greenwood. They also have £55m of Raphinha money burning a hole in their pocket. If they can pay £30m for Dan f***ing James they can pay properly for Ivan.

Newcastle also can pay much more if they can pay £25m for Wood and maybe Ivan might feel he has unfinished business up there.

It might all just be paper talk but I think we could manage fine if it came about. We’ve done it time and again since we went up to the Championship, lost Donaldson and couldn’t afford Trotta yet still outperformed everyone’s dire predictions of doom by a long margin. Keep the faith.

Not for me, it's him or KLP on the left. Through the middle either Toney or New but not anybody else in our current squad.

I'm not sure he got the service. I dont recall him missing hatfuls of chances every week more like half chances at best. If we could hang on to him and get someone who can find him in the box I'd back him to be up there with the best.

He will get an England call-up before he leaves here. More chance of Inspector Closeau picking up leads than Toney moving up to Yorkshire

Agree. He was also not fully fit for a few games in which he played and spent too much of the season not in the box.

And I think that's why we won't get any 'proper' offers of £45m+ just yet - they're paying for potential, not a proven top flight goalscorer in the PL. Most of his goals were pens. I think you're spot on - get him regular service, get him in the box more, and he's up there with the best and could easily get 20+ PL goals next season. I would then expect him to be off this time next year.

My only slight worry is given his obvious ambition and some slight 'd***head tendencies, he may well have his head turned if a top 6 club comes in for him with an offer than we don't accept. Hope I'm wrong.

No bar to playing- he’ll be way more aware of his energy and blood sugar levels than any other player and have that monitored live in real time from the bench.

I think it was more we got found out as a team, Ivan was struggling but it was more to do with the tactics, set up and service in my opinion. When Eriksen came into the team I thought Ivan looked a top 6 striker, scouting systems will have noticed the difference when playing with similar quality other top 6 teams would have.

I’m more worried about Ethan Pinnock supposedly out for 3 months.

Not sure if I can go through MBS in the first team for a long run.

If we sell IT it will be on out terms.

I’d suggest finding a decent covering CB on loan would be fairly straightforward compared to finding a replacement for IT.

We’d need to have Kane and Vardy in our squad for him to pipe down about our lack of strikers and even then he’d fret about Vardy being old and injury prone and how we probably ought to get a proven back up third striker.
