Ivan Toney
Yes. Better defender, amazing workrate, he’s more clever dirty and worlds best penalty taker. Bliss class tho.Really mate? Better than Blissett?

Yes, he is operating at a different level.Really mate? Better than Blissett?
Really mate? Better than Blissett?
mcculloch in my book. bliss , excellent player, wasn't a prolific scorer tbhReally mate? Better than Blissett?
Different times and different leagues obviously, but i thought Forster was our most ruthless finishermcculloch in my book. bliss , excellent player, wasn't a prolific scorer tbh
Dean Holdsworth for me. 38 goals in our promotion season and was able to replicate being a consistent, top goalscorer in the top division for a side that didn't score truckloads.Different times and different leagues obviously, but i thought Forster was our most ruthless finisher
I don't think its even got as much intelligence as that, pure clickbait nonsense. All this talk and speculation, has probably been conjured up by Barry Fry at Peterborough
If it were him he’d have pitched the fee at £50m to drive up the sell on clause. That’d probably fund them for a promotion season. All this talk and speculation, has probably been conjured up by Barry Fry at Peterborough
He was excellent and got sold for peanutsDifferent times and different leagues obviously, but i thought Forster was our most ruthless finisher
If Wissa is the replacement for Toney we have huge issues.Maupay being replaced by Ollie coming in from the wing, loads of us thought that was iffy at the time. Until we were proven spectacularly wrong.
Toney is well off leaving at this stage, but I'd wager a few quid on Wissa being the replacement if he did go.
Hugh Issues, do keep upWhat the hell is a hugh?
I wondered whatever happened to hughbee. If Wissa is the replacement for Toney we have hugh issues.
Ex-GPGer Hughbee is being signed up to provide some attacking prowess on the far left of the field. What the hell is a hugh?
You mean the 55 million that they will never see from Barcelona? ?Leaving aside the reliability of the Sun as a source of info, let’s think it through.
£30m seems obviously far too low and likely nowhere near our valuation of Toney. It’d probably have been too low last summer before he had a season where he showed he could cut it in the PL and demonstrated his all round play. £50m would not be unreasonable.
While I’m sure BFC was not planning to sell, it is a selling club and an offer at or above its valuation would I think be listened to. Buying another out and out striker was not a priority but I doubt it means we haven’t had our eyes on a few possibilities. I don’t have any qualms about whether the sorts we’d have identified at up to £20m or so would be anything short of mustard. It is also perhaps interesting that they’ve been trying out Bryan up top without Toney on the pitch in the two friendlies. Wissa is also probably better suited to a central role having had time to get his eye in from wider. Halil also looks like he’s got a chance to shine which he’s working hard on taking. And we’ve just broken our transfer record on KLP.
Leeds are desperate for a striker as presently they only have Bamford who is made of glass and two youngsters in Gelhardt and Greenwood. They also have £55m of Raphinha money burning a hole in their pocket. If they can pay £30m for Dan f***ing James they can pay properly for Ivan.
Newcastle also can pay much more if they can pay £25m for Wood and maybe Ivan might feel he has unfinished business up there.
It might all just be paper talk but I think we could manage fine if it came about. We’ve done it time and again since we went up to the Championship, lost Donaldson and couldn’t afford Trotta yet still outperformed everyone’s dire predictions of doom by a long margin. Keep the faith.
I get the impression that you can play him right across the front line in a 3.No Thank You.
Yoan Wissa is already in the team.If Wissa is the replacement for Toney we have huge issues.
They've already stopped taking bets on Leeds then ? ?Been a while since we’ve had some transfer odds on this forum ??
I wonder what I'd find if I looked up your thoughts on Ollie when Maupay left ?If Wissa is the replacement for Toney we have huge issues.
Not for me, it's him or KLP on the left. Through the middle either Toney or New but not anybody else in our current squad.I get the impression that you can play him right across the front line in a 3.
Ollie was bought to fill that role from day one.I wonder what I'd find if I looked up your thoughts on Ollie when Maupay left ?
I'm not sure he got the service. I dont recall him missing hatfuls of chances every week more like half chances at best. If we could hang on to him and get someone who can find him in the box I'd back him to be up there with the best.Ivan got " found out " to some extent last season.
I'd like to think he would have adjusted for the coming one.
Just my opinion but I think we'd recover from his departure more quickly than most of us once thought.
unfortunately he has type 1 diabetes - poor sod.Probably just agent talk.
The Dolberg rumor would make sense though.
Who says Wissa wasn't ?Ollie was bought to fill that role from day one.
Agree. He was also not fully fit for a few games in which he played and spent too much of the season not in the box.I'm not sure he got the service. I dont recall him missing hatfuls of chances every week more like half chances at best. If we could hang on to him and get someone who can find him in the box I'd back him to be up there with the best.
Weird take for our most lethal finisher in front of goal last season! Not for me, it's him or KLP on the left. Through the middle either Toney or New but not anybody else in our current squad.
No bar to playing- he’ll be way more aware of his energy and blood sugar levels than any other player and have that monitored live in real time from the bench.unfortunately he has type 1 diabetes - poor sod.
ok. i was sympathetic of his illness. No bar to playing- he’ll be way more aware of his energy and blood sugar levels than any other player and have that monitored live in real time from the bench.
Ivan got " found out " to some extent last season.
I'd like to think he would have adjusted for the coming one.
Just my opinion but I think we'd recover from his departure more quickly than most of us once thought.
ollie Watkins this is*I think he lived in Windsor area when he was playing for us not London
I think Fry is quite capable of starting a click bait rumour and has just the motivation to do it now.I don't think its even got as much intelligence as that, pure clickbait nonsense.
TbhSimple question here. What would relegation cost the club in lost revenue?
THATS the Toney transfer fee.
I’d suggest finding a decent covering CB on loan would be fairly straightforward compared to finding a replacement for IT.Tbh
I’m more worried about Ethan Pinnock supposedly out for 3 months.
Not sure if I can go through MBS in the first team for a long run.
If we sell IT it will be on out terms.
Nope.Is there a danger that Dervisoglu is Ivan’s replacement?
Well if he gets the chance and he takes it I hope you acknowledge it.Not for me, it's him or KLP on the left. Through the middle either Toney or New but not anybody else in our current squad.
We’d need to have Kane and Vardy in our squad for him to pipe down about our lack of strikers and even then he’d fret about Vardy being old and injury prone and how we probably ought to get a proven back up third striker.Well if he gets the chance and he takes it I hope you acknowledge it.
Come on, please let the thread die, we don’t need to destroy our own moral.
